North Cumbria Mental Health Support Team

Early Intervention Mental Health Support for Emotional Health and Wellbeing for Children and Young People in Education settings in the North Cumbria community. The Mental Health Support Teams work in schools and education settings with a focus on delivering mental health support at the first signs of difficulty. We work in partnership with the school community and other wellbeing services to develop a whole school approach to mental health and wellbeing, building on what is being done already.


We work in North Cumbria Schools.

We offer support with:

  • Low mood

We provide support using:

  • 1:1 support
  • Assessments
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Face to face sessions
  • Group support
  • Parenting programmes
  • Referrals to other services
  • Therapy
  • Training

We help ages:

  • 13 and under
  • 14 to 18

up to age 25 with SEND young people

Get help from our service

Access for young people is through a referral process in schools. The Mental Health Support Team Works alongside mental health support staff in schools.
